Frequently asked

My import didn't work. What can I do?
Some pages block reading, and some photos are too blurry to read reliably. Try again with the original recipe link instead of a re-share, or retake the photo in better light. If it keeps failing, email us the link — real failures are exactly what we want to hear about.
Is Ruchy really free? What's the catch?
Free, no ads, no tracking, no selling your data. AI imports cost us a little per recipe, so there's a generous daily limit that resets every day.
Do I need an account?
No. Ruchy works without a name, email, or phone number. The app creates an anonymous identity so your recipes back up and sync — we don't know who you are.
Can I trust the nutrition numbers and substitutions?
Treat them as estimates, not medical advice. AI can be wrong. If you or anyone eating has an allergy, always check the ingredients yourself — the app helps you flag clashes, but the final check is yours.
How do I get my recipes out?
In the app: You → Account & data → Export my recipes. You get a copy of everything — your recipes are yours.
Someone sent me a link like /r/k7x2 — what is it?
That's a shared recipe card. The link opens the recipe in the app. The code is random and contains no personal information about the sender.

Delete your data

In the app: You → Account & data → Delete account & data. This permanently removes your recipes and settings from your device and from our cloud.

Without the app installed: you don't need to reinstall anything. Email hello@ruchy.app with the subject "Delete my data" and, if you remember it, the display name you used. We will delete your synced data and confirm by reply. See the Privacy Policy for the full details and your rights under India's DPDP Act.
